Term Three!

Hello parents of Kindergarten A

I hope that you all has a wonderful winter vacation!

Over the winter break we had our classroom remodel which has created a lot more light and space in our room.

Our first task was to rearrange the centres and activity spaces and everyone was decided on by the students. I think they have done a wonderful job and we are all looking forward to enjoying and learning in our new classroom!

English

This week we have been settling back into our routine of reading and learning phonics.
I was happy to see and hear about the different books everyone has been reading on Raz-Kids.

Maths

This week we have been reviewing the maths lessons we did last term. We have been reviewing telling the time, addition and subtractions as well as place values.

Unit of Inquiry

As you are aware the year end performance will be at the end of this term. In our unit of inquiry this term we will be looking at celebrations around the world.

As a class the students will deciding which dances, costumes, languages and songs will be on display on stage! I am very excited to see what we will all come up with.

If you have a favourite festival, tradition, story, costume or song from your home country please discuss this with your child as we want to hear all about everyone's home countries and cultures.

Play time

In the gym we have been playing a lot of soccer and practising our catching and kicking skills. We have also enjoyed playing onigoko in the park and improving our fine motor skills with playdough and perler beads.

Important information

A few of our students have not brought in their supplies to be used in class.
This is a friendly reminder to parents to please send in the necessary supplies including stationary and clothing supplies.
