AIS - Kinder A: February 2020

Hello parents of Kinder A

Sorry for the delay in the class blog being posted but I had some technical difficulties uploading photos for the last two weeks. Thank you for your understanding.

These weeks the weather has been wonderful and we have been enjoying time in the park while we have also been working hard on our YEP performance!

English

We have been working on the phonic sound OE and in shOE as well as our story writing, hand writing, regular phonics and most importantly our reading skills.

I wanted to let you all know that i have been quite impressed with the improvement of the whole class in their English abilities.

Maths

We have been reviewing our knowledge of solid and flat shapes such as cube and square. We are continuing to drill addition and subtraction, half, doubles, odds and evens as well and less than and greater than.

Most of the class has been practicing their math every morning using a website called abcya. Most student know how to navigate the site so feel free to have them show you what they can do!

Unit of Inquiry

We have been practicing our lines and brainstorming what props and costumes we need for our performance. I have been very proud of everyone helping each other to learn their lines it was heartwarming to see.

We have also looked at some more unusual festivals around the world and most of us have decided that we would like to visit the festivals where fruit or vegetable are thrown around for fun.

A request from Ms Bel.

As part of our YEP we have ordered a class costume for our final dance performance, however the class has decided that we would like to put together our own costumes for the play we are performing.

To that end we are requesting that if any parents have any old, unwanted or unused clothes at home to please donate them to our class performance. Any clothes will be accepted and we will need all kinds of clothes from pants, shirts and hats to dresses and jackets. All donations will be greatly appreciated!!
