Grade 3 Market

This week we used the money the students have been earning in class to do some shopping at the grade 3 class's market. They sold things like accessories, slime, origami, and toys. Next week we will visit the grade 6/7 class and shop at their handmade jewelry store. The pretend money they earn will be converted into real money by the school and donated to charity.

Chinese New Year

Today we celebrated Chinese New Year. We wore red clothes, made dragon puppets, and read some stories about Chinese New Year. At the end of the day we had a gyoza party!

We made boar headbands to celebrate the year of the pig.

February Events

Grandparents Day

Today we were lucky to have many of our Moms, Dads, Grandmas, and Grandpas come to our class for Grandparents Day. Thank you to everyone who came!

January Birthday Party

We had a birthday party for the students with January birthdays. We sang and danced, then played bingo. It was fun!

Friday, January 11

Welcome back to school. I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable holiday. Term 3 will be busy, but I'm sure it will also be a lot of fun.

This week we did some role play in the classroom. The students had fun being stylists at the hair salon, florists at the flower shop, and patisseries at the bakery.

This week we also worked as authors and wrote books and comics for our class library.

On Friday we pretended to be journalists and photographers and put together a Kinder newspaper called the Kinder Times about the things we did during the week. I hung a copy in the hallway if you would like to take a look!

As you know Monday is a national holiday so there will be no school. Have a great long weekend!
