Hello Parents of Kindergarten A
I hope you have all enjoyed your week as much as we enjoyed discovering the differences and similarities between medieval England and Sengoku jidai Japan.
Math
We have continued to reinforce skip counting and practiced using dice for addition and subtraction.
1's, 10's and 100's were introduced to a few students and being able to work out a number not only written numerically but also with letters or as a block representation. They have really enjoyed this and this lesson will be taught to the whole class next week.
Unit of Inquiry
We have been researching, exploring and learning all about medieval England! We have learned about parts of a castle, what people ate, the social order and much more!
Many of us were very interested in the different parts of a castle as well as armor and coats of arms. We designed and made our own but I have sent home another one for them to have some more time creating one.
Next week we are going to start comparing different civilizations, what they have in common and what makes them different. We are going to look into clothing, food, transports, jobs, writing, games etc.
Art
This week in our art lessons we have made kings. queens, knights and maidens from medieval England as well as designing our own European family coat of arms!
PE
This week in PE we have been working hard to memorize our moves for our event at the Abroad Sports Day. We can't tell you too much as we wish for it to be a bit of a surprise but we can share a few photos of our practice.
