October 16th

 Hello Parents of Kindergarten A

Thank you for your patience regarding the delay in updating this blog.

We have been working hard in our unit of inquiry learning about where we are in place and time.

We are learning about ancient civilizations, old objects and the modern versions we use today.

We have recently been looking at the stone age, the iron age and the steam age and thinking about how our ancestors use different tools and technology to solve problems.

In math we have been learning about how to read an analogue clock, seconds, minutes and hours as well as firming up our knowledge of addition and subtraction.

In English we have been focusing on our reading and our writing, our sight words and phonics.

We have been practicing our reading daily in class and our writing at least three times a week.

I have been very impressed with how hard everyone has been working on improving their reading levels and how excited we have been getting at our improving writing ability.

We are also giving out certificates to students who level up in their reading to take home and be proud of their achievements.

We all had a great time at the sports day and I hope you enjoyed Soran Bushi as much as we enjoyed performing it.

Finally here are a few more photos from our adventures this week.
